Kan’s Radiotherapy Treatment

Kan is much more then a pet, he is a valuable member of our family. His story with us started when he was adopted by us almost two and half years ago. Now he is three years and seven months old and has his whole life in front of him. Unfortunately one month ago he was diagnosed with inoperable brain tumor. After original shock we decided to act and went to an Animal Hospital in Postojna , Slovenia. They told us that they do precise Radiotherapy for brain tumors and that results on dogs are excellent. Two weeks after first Radiotherapy treatment results with Kan are great, he is full of life again and is off of most of his medications that he was on before therapy. Only problem with Radiotherapy is that is quite expensive treatment. From first MRI scan until the end of treatment total cost will be about 7.000 (seven thousand) euros. Kan je puno više od kućnog ljubimca, on je punopravan član obitelji. njegova priča sa nama počinje kada smo ga udomili prije otprilike dvije i pol godine. Sada ima tri godine i sedam mjeseci i cijeli život ispred sebe. Nažalost prije mjesec dana mu je dijagnosticiran neoperabilan tumor na mozgu. Nakon prvobitnog šoka odlučili smo djelovati i otišli u Bolnicu za životinje u Postojni, Slovenija. Rekli su nam da postoji mogućnost liječenja preciznom radioterapijom tumora i da imaju odlične rezultate. Dva tjedna nakon prvog zračenja Kanovi rezultati su odlični, ponovno je pun života i skinuli smo ga sa osamdeset posto lijekova na kojima je bio prije terapije. Jedini problem kod liječenja radioterapijom je što je prilično skupa. Od prvog MRI snimanja do kraja tretmana ukupna cijena liječenja će biti oko 50.000 ( pedeset tisuća) kuna.
