This story is about my brother, Kalin the bright star. We live in small town, called Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. Funding a job in this small town can be challenging and difficult, especially since South Africa's economy is not doing great. My mother works really hard just to earn a salary that provides for our very basic needs, which is just enough to cover for electricity and some food. Sometimes it is not enough to cover for our basics needs, thankfully family and friends provide us with donations to assist. My brother Kalin is very driven and passionate about perusing a profession in the accounting fielding and obtaining a CA(SA) qualification. Kalin started he is degree in 2015, where he was awarded R10 000 donation to join UKZN. due to his excellent matric results. Without having a plan of how we would pay for rest of the university fees, Kalin registered for first year BCom Accounting at the Pietermaritzburg Campus. At the end of 2015, Kalin did not get his results, due to money outstanding to the university. After much discussions with the head of the accounting department, she allowed Kalin to see his results and he passed all his modules. My mother was very proud of his achievements but also very concerned as to how will she send him back to university. Registration of second year, the university allowed my mum to pay 40% of the 2015 fees and the 2016 registration and this will allow my brother to study for second year. My mom took out loans and also asked family and friends to assisted.
Again in 2016, my brother did not receive his 2nd year results due to fees outstanding. My mum cannot afford to pay as she is trying to payoff for the loan she took out and provide for my brother and I basic needs.
In order for y brother to register for 3rd year, he needs to pay the university for 1st year balance, 2nd year fees and 3rd year registration fees.
I am appealing to everyone out there, please help send Kalin back to university and let him complete his degree. Any amount and payment method is accepted. If you would like to pay directly to the university, I will send you the account details. This will help build his future and better his life and my mothers life. I hope one day he and my family can repay you back.
Thank you all for your support and time.
