Campaign Story
The situation of LGBTI people in many African countries is extremely exposed. Persecution, harassment, gay and transphobia, torture, death threats and severe poverty. Not least in Uganda. Many HBTQI people are forced to fly for their lives because of their sexuality and gender identity. Many have fled to Kenya and there the authorities have placed them in a refugee camp, Kakuma Camp. 180000 people live there, and of these belong to some hundred HBTQI persons. But even here they are exposed. Exposed to the same treatment as in their home countries and not least they are extremely poor. They need support for food, hygine articles and clothes.
