A DREAM DENIED BY DEATH

Kadeja Braham was a vibrant, outgoing, loving 18year old, also a  promising model who had dreams of becoming a successful flight atendant. She was a true representation of a beautiful young lady, who could change a dull moment with her sparkling smile; a smile that she always wears and the tenderness of childlikeness within.  An 'Angel' is what her friends and family would call her, always living each moment and being thankful with what she had. Loved by her mother, father, sisters, brothers, coworkers, friends.

SJS- A DEADLY DIAGNOSIS

On December 25, 2013, Kadeja woke up feeling flu-like symptoms and did what any normal human being would do and took a packet of FLU Tablets. This then resulted in her having to be rushed to the hospital by her family who had no clue that their beloved Kadeja was being severely broken down by this rare and deadly syndrome (STEVENS-JOHNSON SYNDROME/ TOXIC EPIDERMAL NECROLYIS). For 22 days Kadeja stayed in the hospital battling this illness; however, the pain was so severe and the resources at the hospital to treat this illness was almost at a nil and she could not fight any longer. Kadeja died on January 16, 2014 on the day her oldest sister was to celebrate her birthday. Her family so saddened by the news and was at a complete loss after turning over rocks to find ways of her getting the treatment and the medication she needed. Her story was published in the Jamaica Observer Newspaper to make people  aware of this deadly syndrome.
