Campaign Story
I am Kabelo, currently studying at North West University Potchefstroom Campus. I am writing this story for funding as a tool to communicate my motivation for funding from everyone as I need R17 000. I am currently doing my Postgraduate Certificate in Education after completing my bachelor’s degree in Heritage and Cultural Tourism Management therefore I would love to further my studies. When I receive a chance to be the recipient of donations I will be very happy and assure you that I will work hard as I always do to meet your expectations. With my hard work and dedication, I shall see that I excel in the field of education. The reason am seeking donations is that my father cannot manage to take me to school as I have used NSFAS in my previous degree, we only survive with the salary of piece jobs that my father does when he receives once in a while, I want to further my studies because I want to be a better person and to change the situation at home and be able to take care of my family and have an opportunity one day to change someone else's life by contributing towards their qualification as well. I am a hard worker who is independent and very dependable but still a big team player. I enjoy working with people and learning new things. I am very passionate and enthusiastic. I have experience in leadership roles which equipped me with great skills of communication. In my leadership experience, I was able to serve as a secretary of a student organization affiliated with the university and I was also able to serve as chairperson for two terms in the same organization. I was selected to be amongst 30 students who attended the 2021 Director of Student life: Prestige Leadership program. I have just served for Student Campus Council 21/22 for the portfolio of Students’ Interest and Development which is our Campus SRC. Leadership shapes a person into a better person in the long run. Even after you are done being a leader, the lessons you learn from it carry with you. And once you become a leader it’s not, snap your fingers, you are done, that’s it. It’s how you can improve from there as well. My commitment to giving back started in my first when I joined a student organization that helps focuses on preparing grade 11 and 12s for tertiary and applying for them then that started building up. I then joined a volunteering organization called NWU SALT that focuses on health issues and I also volunteered at the vaccination center of NWU. I was a team leader for the NWU Covid 19 Compliance team that volunteered to raise awareness about Covid 19. I am currently volunteering to tutor learners from 10 to 12 at Ikamva Youth Centre in Ikageng branch. I am humbly requesting donations. I promise you that I shall meet the expectations of the institution. With my hard work and dedication, I shall put in all the effort to excel and finish my studies in record time. With your help, I will be finishing my studies and will become eligible to work as a teacher as I have a passion for shaping young minds to have a brighter future. In this way, I will be in a better place to support my family. One of the reasons I want to do my Honours is because I want to invest in leadership development at the school I will be working at therefore this qualification is not only for me but to make a difference too. I understand the value and privilege of receiving donations. I have a self-commitment to make the most of my BEd Honours program and execute my future endeavours. I believe I would be in the good books of the Institution’s consideration to provide me a chance as the recipient, with all my ambitions and hope, I, therefore, end my motivation letter here
