HARLOW Case UPDATE ~ Justice for Renata

Griselda Alves is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Renata 18 years old and her mother Carolina Sanchez . Renata, Carolina and their dog Mila are from Mexico City. They settled in Merida, Yucatan in 2020 to pursue their creative dreams.

This sweet and happy family photo is deceiving. On March 26, 2021 everything changed. Their world was turned upside down. Renata was brutally assaulted and received death threats by a neighboring disgruntled business owner over furniture placement while Renata was in her mom’s gallery. Renata suffered a fractured nose and is in need for an immediate surgery to correct the bridge of her nose and alleviate the chronic pain caused by the injury. This story sent shock waves across Mexico and made and made national news. (See links for more detailed information).

I will update you on the progress of Renata and Carolina’s recovery from this unjust ordeal. Renata will be under the care of Dr. Perla Becerril, Otorhinolaryngologist from Merida, Yucatan. She specializes in nose surgery.

This campaign is for my dear and long-time friend Carolina and for her daughter Renata. While they are mending the physical and psychological wounds, they are also struggling with this unfair financial burden. I am their voice and it is only natural to lend a hand for this family in crisis.

All funds will go directly to Renata’s mother to pay for the medical bills including CT scans, the doctor’s consultations, medications, the surgery and post-operative medical costs. The goal is 85,000 Mexican pesos or the equivalent of approximately $4,300 USD.
