Family and friends of Rashad Rasheed seek donations for our brother’s legal defense fund.

Forty-five years ago our brother/uncle/father/grandfather/friend was stolen from his family and friends for a crime he did not commit! Close your eyes for a moment and reflect on the last 30 or 45 years of your life. The many people, places and all the precious experiences that make you your wonderful self. The mind cannot even begin to paint a picture that can erase all the ups and downs, joy and pain, tears and laughter you experienced in that time.

Our brother, Rashad Rasheed, has been incarcerated for nearly 45 years in a Massachusetts correctional institute. Due to him not have the means of retaining a private attorney, Rashad was represented during the trial by a public defender and was ultimately sentenced to prison. He has been incarcerated for 45 years with a sentencing of life. He has appealed to every state court for justice and has been denied. Most recently important and vital exculpatory DNA evidence has come to light which may assist him in gaining his freedom. As sisters (Alice and Debbie), along with family, longtime friends, and others, we all support him financially, spiritually and emotionally. Rashad continues to remain positive and inspire all of us with his strong hope as he continues to research, read and grow as he moves forward through this process.

Rashad needs our help. We all know that he would already be home if he had proper legal representation.

Because he cannot afford an attorney, Rashad is continuing to fight for his freedom by writing and preparing for his own appeals. We need to retain a strong attorney for a better presentation of the facts and another opportunity at life. Please help us help Rashad by contributing to his legal appeals fund.
