Justice for Bill

Two years ago, my grandfather died alone and afraid with no family around him. I had to find out by calling a restaurant he frequented that he had died. The people responsible for taking away my chance to say goodbye didn't bother to contact any close family, they were too busy selling his assets and putting his house on the market. You see, my grandfather had Dementia, and in his confused and vulnerable state two practical strangers isolated him from all family and got him to sign over power of attorney to them. They also took him to a lawyer he had never met before and convinced him to change his will from having six blood relatives as the beneficiaries, to just these two sisters. Less than a week after changing his will, he was dead.

There isn't a lot of money in his estate, but for me the callous way in which these sisters dealt with his death and how they were still emptying the contents of his house days after his death, have made me want to find justice. What they did was both selfish and wrong. The case has not gone to court yet, but they have been notified that I am challenging the will. I have an advocate's paid opinion that there is reason to challenge the will, and to date a friend has been covering the legal fees.

Unfortunately her financial situation has changed and she can no longer help as much. I have decided to try and raise the attorney fees by asking friends who would like to, and have the capacity to, to please help me take these people to court and show them that they can't get away with manipulating a vulnerable person and benefiting financially from someone who is clearly in no state to be making any major decisions regarding his finances.

I know that these kinds of cases are difficult to argue, but I want to try - purely because they robbed me of a chance to say goodbye because of their greed. Any money I get for the case, if we win, I guarantee that I will repay each and every person who made a contribution.
