Hi all, for the past 2 years, we as a family have experienced severe emotional unrest. This has been due to Nnaemeka being arrested and convicted UNJUSTLY, while the real perpetrator walks amongst us. We are in need of all the help we can get!!! Please read his story below.
My name is Nnaemeka R. Ani. I am a second Generation man who came to the United States in 2013 to not only gain knowledge but to enhance the quality of life of both me and my family. I graduated in May 2018 and gained admission to the new one year MBA program (2018-2019) being offered by the Smeal Business College at The Pennsylvania State University.
Unbeknownst to me, there was a sexual assault that occurred at the same apartment complex where I lived but a different building that fall 2017.
In December 2018, prior to the finalization of my employment, I was profiled by members of Ferguson Township Police Department and was charged with different assortment of crimes. I lost everything. Without a bullet, the law enforcement took away my life, mental health and more but they will never take away my will power.
Since arrested in December 2018,
At the preliminary hearing on Feb 6th 2019, the alleged complainant of the sexual assault TESTIFIED unequivocally, that I was NOT the person who committed this crime on her.(there are transcripts to back this up). Also prior to this, the detectives showed her different pictures of me and she denied I was ever at her residence. In fact she had a specific description that did not match me except me being a "college aged black male". According to her, the alleged actor was between 5'4-5'6 and bulky. I am 5'11 without shoes and 6ft with shoes and I have always been lean and athletic.
At TRIAL, she testified again that she didn't know me or ever seen me before. There was evidence tampering (included an unreasonable explanation for a 3 inch tear of evidence envelope in an evidence room that only one detective has a key to). No video was shown wit respect to the evidence room, No 911 call was presented, No independent testing of evidence was ever done.(there are transcripts to back this up)
A jury convicted me in a swift move after the DA further prejudiced me and inflamed their passions by using unrelated trespasses of a general description of "college aged black male" which didn't involve any form of physical and/or sexual crime. I have been in a constant legal battle with the Centre County District Attorney's office in historic number of constitutional violations of my rights. I have been incarcerated for close to 2 years now.
As such, kindly see attached how I was profiled, stopped, how the officer lacked reasonable suspicion and lacked probable cause for my arrest. I took time to write them up so even the lay man would understand.
I have sought help in every way I can possibly imagine; NAACP, ACLU plus more but there is a limitation borne out of financial issues as such I have not received an adequate legal representation. The covid-19 pandemic has further strained on my family's resources. I have only one family member in the United States; my humble sister and she has tried her best to assist me. I am currently incarcerated.
I've never used a donation campaign before and I am not sure how to proceed
An example of another poisonous fruit was when I was interrogated without my Miranda rights read to me and when it was read to me, I unequivocally requested an attorney more than 5times of which I was told I was not entitled to one.
The Centre County justice system has failed me and I am calling on everyone of all race, shapes, sizes, religious and/or political beliefs and or any form of diversity to rise up and assist me in making sure that justice in which the U.S. and Pennsylvania Constitution were created to protect prevails by donating to this campaign. No amount is too small.
I am in need of an attorney who can fight for my rights which has been violated egregiously by Centre County Law enforcement. If it touches your heart and soul to assist, please kindly donate, pray for me, inform others about my situation and kindly share this to other people.
I appreciate every donation and prayer no matter how much. Thank you all for your assistance and May God continue to bless you, grant you long life and prosperity and health in mind and body.
-Your fellow Brother
