I have been a swimmer for a while now and I often get asked how can you swim back and forth, endlessly, staring at the black line at the bottom of the pool? Truth is, I really don't have a great answer.
What I can tell you is that I am in awesome shape. Most people I know can hardly swim a single lap of a pool. I am VERY proud of my accomplishments! In the end, I know that swimming is making me a better person. More capable. More confident. More everything. I can't imagine not swimming for my team. I have great lane mates and love training and racing. I just love swimming!
All said, the reason you're reading this is my swim team, Weston Swimming is conducting a fundraising event this Saturday (Jan 7th) - Just Keep Swimming. I will be raising money by swimming as many laps as possible in 1 hour's time. I have put 50 laps as my goal and hope to do more. At Weston Swimming, our coaches work with swimmers of all ages to improve their proficiency in swimming, and to develop life skills. My coaches teach swimming techniques, endurance, and how to succeed in competitive swimming. Along with good swimming techniques, the coaches help teach self-discipline, good sportsmanship, and the value of staying physically active.
Our team’s fundraising goal is $5,000.00 . Your support of this goal will provide myself and others an opportunity to be successful in a fun, family friendly form of athletics, and become a positive asset to our community. Your donation will help to provide training, equipment, and education for myself, and for othersto raise critical money that will be used to benefit all of our team. I will give it my best effort!
Thank you for supporting me!
