Campaign Story
Dear kind hearted souls,
My husband Jun, is from the Philippines, and has been working hard in the construction sector in Singapore for the last 10 years, and holds an S Pass. We recently got married in the Philippines, and planned to have our marriage ceremony here in Singapore this August as well. But this didn’t come to pass.
Blocked breathing… and the horrible cause
Recently, he discovered an abscess in the nose canal that blocked his breathing. We went to see doctor in clinic and get a referral letter to see the ENT specialist in NUH. The ENT doctor took some samples for testing and the pathologist informed the doctor my husband was diagnosed with a nasal cancer known as "Poorly Differentiated Carcinoma”.
Our new family depends very much on Jun. Jun’s surgery is temporarily booked for 10 September 2021.
Grade 3
“Poorly Differentiated Carcinoma” refers to a cancer’s grade and helps the doctor predict how quickly the cancer will spread. “Poorly differentiated” in this case refers to Grade 3. And this means that if Jun does not receive help and treatment soon, his cancer will start spreading to the rest of his body.
Jun’s employer has lent all support, but we need more help to pay for his treatment
Given that he’s considered as a foreigner, Jun is only covered by foreign worker medical insurance of $15,000. This insurance is purchased by his company and he has no other insurance. His employer has lent all the support for him as a foreign worker, but still not enough to finance all the treatment.
We desperately need your help to raise funds before 10 September please
The surgery and medication are estimated minimum at $40,000. However, it will rise up to $70,000 for any complication found during the surgery and the radiation therapy at $30,000.
Chemotherapy shall follow depending on how his body responds to the treatment. In addition, he needs to rest for around 4-5 months with no income. We are having an difficulties financially at this moment and we hope to raise at least $100,000 to cover his medical fees and his post surgery expenses, and I will work harder to provide for the family.
Thank you for helping my husband to fight nasal cancer
As a wife, it pains me to see my husband going through this ordeal, but we hope a kind hearted Samaritan like yourself can help us with my husband medical bills, please. My husband's life is in your hands now.
In this regard, may we request for your financial assistance that we could use to support my husband’s medical treatment.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and God bless!
Best Regards,
Aidy
