Children are our future, point blank. If our children succeed, we in return shall succeed in society as a whole. Therefore, nearly everyone wants the chance for their children to go to college and to succeed to not only make a better future for themselves but for everyone. This is why all children should be given the chance to go to college; which is exactly what I want for my daughter Judy.

My daughter is only 2 and a half so its hard to say what the world will be like when she goes to college, but as good parents we all want a better life for our children and will put forth effort to make the road to success an easier one on them then it was for ourselves. There is an old saying, "I used to walk ten miles in the snow to get to school." This statement can be taken several ways. The first, of course is about respecting what one has that is better than the way another person had it. Another interpretation is that one was willing to walk ten miles just to get to school. The third way one could view this statement is that the future and invention should allow the next generation to have an easier time succeeding than the generation before it.

Although I did not walk ten miles in the snow to get school, I more than earned it. I went to college before the Facebook days and before programs such as gogetfunding ever existed, if it had existed I would have made use of it. Ways of getting funding for college evolved mailing long winded essays crossing one's fingers for a scholarship. When I did get scholarships it was never enough. There was always rent, bills, tuition and food, if I was lucky enough to eat. My first year in college I lived on a couch or in my car, I ate once every two days, a package of Top Ramon, sometimes it was uncooked when I didn't have a stove to use. I weighed 99 pounds and I'm 5'7. I worked two jobs, I barely slept or functioned for that matter, somehow managing to get a grade point average of 3.8. My second year in college, as an attractive female, I began stripping to pay for college and make ends meet. I wasn't proud of it, but it put me through college. Although I wasn't walking to school 10 miles in the snow, it sure felt like it and this is something I never want my daughter to endure. And as I know that this fund raiser isn't about me; we should never want our children to suffer as we have suffered.

Being that my daughter is only 2 and a half, it is hard to know what she will want to do for a living. She has a big heart and likes helping people, so I could easily place her in fields such as nursing, counseling or a doctor. These fields are wonderful, because we need counselors to listen to us in our deepest moments of tragedy and heartbreak. Doctors and nurses obviously benefit us for health reasons and our generation at one point in time or another will be old and need our youth to take care of us. She also loves music, art and dancing. These careers are also wonderful because without music and art the world wouldn't be as beautiful, creative, interesting or expressive. These avenues are not only beautiful but create history, emotion and a muse for the masses.

I can't tell you what will happen for the future of my daughter's college as it will be in 16 years. However, I promise that no matter what this funding will go to her to better her future towards her chosen career. I know that in my current state I simply can't afford to send her to college, so this is why I am asking you to help in any way that you can and my daughter and I are very grateful for anything you are willing to give. I am grateful for you to read my story and to gogetfunding so that we all never have to walk ten miles in the snow ever again to get an education.
