Juan Carlos Medical Costs

Soy Tere y tengo 25 años de casada con Juan Carlos Güémez; juntos hemos formado una preciosa familia con nuestros dos hijos, Juan Carlos Jr. y Arath. Vivimos en León, Guanajuato, México.

Para mí, Juan Carlos es el mejor esposo, padre, hijo, hermano y amigo que conozco, siempre siendo el alma de las reuniones familiares y con amistades, alegrando a todos con sus tantas bromas y ocurrencias. Es un hombre muy trabajador y de gran corazón, quién a lo largo de su vida ha ayudado a muchas personas en la medida de sus posibilidades.

El 31 de mayo de este año, 2017, la vida nos sorprendió, Juan Carlos sufrió un fuerte accidente automovilístico del cual sobrevivió de milagro, según dijeron los médicos, ya que se estaba desangrando a punto de morir por las fracturas expuestas. Por suerte, después de 8 horas en la unidad de urgencias del hospital privado al que lo llevaron, lograron estabilizarlo lo suficiente con transfusiones de sangre como para practicarle la primera de las cirugías que tuvieron que hacerle.

Juan Carlos sufrió mucho daño en todo el lado izquierdo de su cuerpo, desde golpes y fractura de cráneo que le causaron edemas cerebrales, 4 fracturas en maxilares, hombro y codo multifragmentados, 3 costillas rotas, multifractura en el fémur y fractura de peroné, hasta fuertes golpes en todo el resto de su cuerpo.

Le realizaron operaciones de emergencia para salvarle la vida y tratar de arreglar sus maxilares, hombro, codo y pierna. Estuvo en el hospital 9 días, de los cuáles, se pasó 5 días entre terapia intensiva y quirófano. El costo de esta hospitalización ascendió a más de un millón cien mil pesos mexicanos que se pagaron con la generosidad de algunas personas que lo conocen y pudieron apoyarlo. Sin embargo, por la naturaleza de sus lesiones y secuelas de las cirugías de urgencia que le hicieron, tuvieron que volver a operarlo de maxilares y faltan nuevas cirugías para hombro y codo.

Estas nuevas cirugías que deben practicarle a la brevedad posible, así como los estudios previos a las mismas, son también muy costosas, entre $280,000 y $350,000 pesos mexicanos dependiendo del hospital, calidad de los materiales, prótesis, honorarios médicos de los especialistas, los postoperatorios, rehabilitaciones y las eventuales complicaciones que pudieran presentarse.

Somos una familia muy unida y hemos recibido mucho apoyo por parte de nuestros parientes y amigos; sin embargo, lamentablemente no contamos con el recurso necesario para cubrir el costo de las nuevas cirugías y Juan Carlos no puede trabajar por ahora para seguir sosteniéndo a su familia económicamente. Y en este momento él requiere atención de tiempo completo, por lo que yo estoy ahí todo el día cuidándolo. Por otra parte, nuestro mayor anhelo es que nuestros hijos sigan estudiando sin que esta situación se los impida.

Es por esto que hoy estoy pidiendo su apoyo para poder cubrir dichas operaciones y que pueda recuperarse lo antes posible para que regrese a hacer lo que más disfruta: trabajar, cuidar de su familia y seguir alegrándonos con sus bromas características.

My name is Tere and I have been married for 25 years to Juan Carlos Güémez with whom I formed a beautiful family with our two sons, Juan Carlos Jr. and Arath. We live in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

For me, Juan Carlos is the best husband, father, son, brother and friend I know, always being the soul of family reunions and with friends, cheering everyone with his many jokes and occurrences. He is a hardworking man with a great heart, who throughout his life has helped many people to the extent of his possibilities.

On May 31 of this year, 2017, life surprised us all, Juan Carlos suffered a major car accident which he survived miraculously, doctors said, as he was bleeding out to the point of death by the fractures exposed. Fortunately, after 8 hours in the emergency room of the private hospital that they took him, they managed to stabilize him enough with blood transfusions to perform the first of the surgeries that had to be done.

Juan Carlos suffered a lot of damage all over the left side of his body, from blows and skull fractures that caused him cerebral edema, 4 fractures in the jaws, shoulder and elbow multifragmented, 3 broken ribs, multifracture in the femur and fracture of fibula, until strong blows throughout the rest of his body.

They performed emergency operations to save his life and try to fix his jaw, shoulder, elbow and leg. He was in the hospital 9 days, of which, spent 5 days between intensive care and surgery. The cost of this hospitalization amounted to more than one hundred one thousand mexican pesos that were paid with the generosity of some people who knew him and could support him. However, due to the nature of his injuries and aftermath of the emergency surgeries that were done to him, they had to operate his jaws again and there are other few new surgeries to be done for shoulder and elbow.

These new surgeries that should be practiced as soon as possible, as well as the studies before them, are also very costly, between $280,000 and $350,000 mexican pesos depending on the hospital, quality of materials, prosthesis, specialist medical fees, postoperative, rehabilitation and any possible complications.

We are a very close family and have received much support from our relatives and friends; However, unfortunately we do not have the necessary resources to cover the cost of the new surgeries and Juan Carlos can not work for now to continue to support his family financially. And at this moment he requires full-time care, so I’m there all day caring for him. On the other hand, our greatest desire is, for our children to continue studying without this situation preventing them.

That is why today I am asking for your support to be able to cover these operations and that he can recover as soon as possible so that he would be able to return to do what you he enjoys the most: work, take care of his family and continue to rejoice with his characteristic jokes.
