#JoyNeedsTheWorld: Mama Helen’s Cancer Treatment Campaign

Hello!

This fundraising campaign is for Mary Joy Bagares' mother, Helen Bagares, who is diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. In these trying times, they are humbly asking for assistance with the following:

1.) Herceptin Therapy - Php 32,000/session (9 sessions)

2.) Radiation Therapy - Php 69,000/session

Mary Joy is the second and youngest child in a family of four, currently affiliated with a pharmaceutical company in Cebu as a Sales and Marketing Associate. Her older brother works as an engineer for Tsuneishi Cebu—a shipbuilding company. Despite their collective income coupled with the economic strain amidst the pandemic, they are still not able to finance their mother's therapy.

For a week now, Joy has singlehandedly transported her mother via pushing wheelchair to and fro the hospital. She has to walk more than 2.5km from Parian to CebuDoc University Hospital (Capitol). As a stay-in employee, her brother can only come home during the weekends. They have received help from a few of their relatives, still that would not suffice with all the medical procedures needed. Cebu City is on hard lockdown as of the moment.

With the urgent need for funding Mama Helen's therapy, Joy has started selling her artworks as she is a gifted artist herself. She would gladly accept commissions to help them.

Joy spreads happiness and positivity through her Facebook page and YouTube channel @JoyTv despite the situation. It's unfortunate how someone with the brightest smile is shouldering a heavy burden.
