Over a month ago, ate Lorraine is just like any other single mom. She's passionate in raising her 2 kids, Cyrus (16 y/o) and Kenth (9 y/o), and her zeal for a new found craft as a Hair and Make Up Artist is so amazing with her clientele that varies from weddings, graduations, birthdays, and other special occasions. She's also a self-taught visual artist, a free lance model, a young entrepreneur, and an astounding sales manager. She's been working hard for her family as any single mom would do to provide a bright future for her children.

She was rushed to the ER on March 20, 2019 because of intense abdominal pain and abnormal vaginal bleeding. In the ultrasound, it was found that she has a cyst in her cervix and immediately it was tested for malignancy. We waited for the biopsy result in almost a week hoping that it's nothing serious. Lo and behold, it tested positive for Adenosquamous Carcinoma, a type of cervical cancer, and at that point Ate's is at Stage 3-B already. The doctors ordered for a CT-Scan to check if the cancer has spread to the upper body, but praise the Lord, it is still contained in her cervix. However, due to the size of the cyst, surgery is no longer possible. A combination of Chemo and Radiation Therapy is needed to kill the cancer cells and prevent them from metastasizing to other body parts. The doctors quoted us with an estimate of PhP 500,000.00 for one cycle of treatment including the medicines and doctors fee.

And just like that, Ate's life has changed.

We hate cancer. We are sorry that this happened to Ate. But in God's light, we are grateful that this happened when Jesus is already part of her life. That He surrounded her with loving family and friends. That even as she go through this trying time, we know God is with her, and in the process He will be glorified.

There are many uncertainties at this point. And we're praying that as this tragedy breaks Ate Lorraine, may she allow God to do the mending not just to her body but to her mind and spirit. May she continue to depend on Him at all times and put her full trust in Jesus. May this experience be an avenue for her to share God's goodness and faithfulness in her life, that even in the midst of pain and suffering, people will know that Jesus is her Lord. That He is the greatest Healer and Provider. And He delivers His people.

As He promised:

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." - Isaiah 43:2

Ate has already started with Chemo and Radiation therapy on April 12, 2019. One cycle consists of 28 sessions that will last until May. From Monday to Friday we go to the hospital for Ate to receive the treatment.

In our own effort, we are facing the impossible right now. The medical bills and other expenses are already piling up. But experiencing God's provision in amazing ways, we trust that all the funds that are needed will be provided just in time for Ate's every session.

Ate Lorraine's joy and determination to get well is very encouraging. As sick as she already is, she still uses her talents and skills. She initiated an HMUA Service for a Cause to reach out to people. She also started sketching and painting again to express her battle with this illness in a very creative way. But more than these things, we are blessed to see that she uses this opportunity to spread God's word and encourage others.

Cancer may had have changed Ate's life, but we know that it's for the better! We are expectant on what Jesus is doing in her and through her. And we are grateful and in awe on how He uses people to send His great love to Ate.

We appreciate your prayers, support, and any means of assistance. This journey will not be complete without you all who support us. To God be all the glory and praise!
