Help Send Joshua to Medical School

Good day!

Hi guys! I'm Joshua Cruz, a psychology graduate and an aspiring physician. I really want to pursue the degree however our family cannot send me to a medical school. That's why last year December 2016, I applied to a school that grants the most generous scholarship that I am qualified for - the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. What they offer is a double-degree program of MD-MBA. Currently, I am taking up a summer subject that is also a pre-requisite to the medical school while having a part-time job as an HR Assistant during Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I applied for a 100% scholarship which they granted my request. (The scholarship is needs-based, renewable every year and depends on the availability of funds given by the donors.) The tuition fee is around 140,00Php. Though here's the catch, there are still other fees that we need to pay such as the Transition Program fee and a fee for the pre-requisite subject that I needed to take. That's why I'm here seeking for your help, so that I can pursue the degree and be able to help other people as well. By the way, I am very fortunate because they waived the confirmation fee (35,000Php). Thank you Lord!

The Transition Program, which helps the incoming students adjust about the whole new system of medical school, starts on July 5, 2017 and ends on the 21st. And the enrollment is on July 22-24.

With my degree in medicine, I seek to venture far-flung areas in our country that does not have access for medical services. I believe that our brethren deserve a quality of life that will help them be a better citizen of our country. 6 out of 10 Filipinos die without ever seeing a doctor and this is because of the expensiveness of the medical services in our country. In the near future, I want to create a systemic and systematic change in the healthcare system of our country so that people from different walks of life can have access these medical services.

You must think that I am nuts asking you guys to fund me, but I am doing the best I can to save money so that I would not be asking my parents to buy me other things needed in medical school such as books which can be very expensive and allowances.
