JOSEPHINE'S FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Josephine Barcil-Matalobos is a caring daughter, a thoughtful sister, and a loving wife and mother of three. Born 2nd among the siblings, she tried to fill the place of her father when the later died. Very determined to help and provide for her family, she juggled between studies and part-time jobs. With her strong personality and intelligence, she managed to lead various School organizations during College days and graduated with flying colors. Born Leader, she became the youngest Manager at the age of 23, shortly two years after she joined a prestigious Logistics and Warehouse Company in Pasay Philippines.

She supported the studies of her siblings and helped their way through until all of her 5 younger siblings graduated in Universities and Colleges with Bachelor Degrees.

With a kind heart, she would extend help to those who are in need whenever and wherever she can. She is indeed blessed, so she used the opportunities given to her to be a blessing to others as well, by helping relatives, friends and even acquaintances to find jobs though referrals.

She’s reputable and well-known for her wisdom and leadership. Truly, her leadership skills paved her way to success of her career. As the saying goes “Great Power comes with great responsibility”, she became one of the Top Management in her Company as AVP. The more responsibilities she had on her shoulder, hence the more stress it brought her.

It was June 2016 when she was diagnosed with stage 3C breast cancer. She underwent series of chemotherapy and Radiation therapy which cost her fortune and their family’s savings. For a period of time, she became fine after the said treatments and believed that she was Cancer-free already, until May 2019, when she was told that Cancer has metastasized to her lungs and bone. Doctor called out that the type of cancer cells in her body are not hereditary, but instead, was acquired and brought about by Stress.

Because of her condition, Josephine was compelled to leave work permanently and devote her time in treatment and recovery, as she’s not supposed to handle further work-related stress. Thus, making her and her family financially exhausted. Last January 31 2020, exactly her birthday, Josephine had undergone brain surgery due to a mild case of hydrocephalus affecting her occipital lobe (vision). Surgery alone had already cost them Php325,000.00.

She is currently recovering but would proceed with another regimen once her condition improves. With this, we would like to seek for your prayers as she continuously fights her battle against cancer. Also, we humble ourselves to ask you for financial help. Any amount will surely be of big help to collate funds for her upcoming treatments and tests.
