Joost’s fight against the MS that is slowly killing him.

Update posted by Albert Martijn Bos On Oct 08, 2016

Dear all, we are ready for our flight to Mexico tomorrow. Huge thanks to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for giving us a free upgrade from economy to economy plus when they heard about Joost Bos and his situation. Proud of and thankful to our national airline :)

We fly from Schiphol at 14:30 and arrive in Mexico at 18:59 after an 11 hour flight. The clinic will send people to pick us up and take us to the clinic in Puebla, and our good Mexican friend Jole Stingray will be there to greet us at the airport.

We are aware that it will be a tough time with the chemo therapy but also very positive and hopeful that there will be progress.

Again we thank you all for helping make this possible with all your support :) <3 :)

As our father Fred Bos has had to take out a loan to complete the sum required we are continuing the fundraising, please help and share! :)

Lots of love to all, you are all in our prayers and you cannot imagine how thankful Joost and Martijn are :)

Good news everybody: Joost has been accepted for treatment in Clínica Ruíz in Puebla, Mexico.

We should get a treatment date soon.

In this treatment, Joost’s own stemcells will be taken and will get treated. He will then get several rounds of chemo therapy, after which he will receive the treated stemcells back. This will reset his immune system and should provide a significant improvement of his condition.

The clinic comes highly recommended to us by an MS patient who went there and saw significant improvement. It is also cheaper than London. The cost of the treatment in Mexico will be USD 54,000. When we account for flights and aftercare we need to raise another USD 10,000 so we can lower the amount required from £75,000 for treatment in London (which has since risen as well) to £50,000 for treatment in Mexico.

With the Dutch and English fundraising sites and offline contributions we are over halfway there, and we are hopeful that we will raise the full amount soon! Please help spread the word again!

Thank you all so much for your help and your donations, we are humbled by your outpouring of love and support.

If you have any ideas for fundraisers please let me know and I will be more than happy to join!

Please all help us in keeping the campaign for Joost going, we are now closer than ever to getting Joost the treatment that he needs!

Together with our good friends Al Shaikh and Rob Mater I will cycle from Joost's old house in Greenwich, London, to his new house in Winterswijk. We will leave early on Thursday 30 June, and arrive at 20:00 on 4 July. We will keep you updated of our progress.

To allow for the bike ride as well as some other initiatives we have decided to extend the fundraising deadline. There are cook-offs, massage treatments and a concert in the pipeline, so watch this space! Thank you so much everyone!!

Dear supporters,

We are trying to get more attention for Joost. As part of this I would like to ask for five minutes of your time. Could I please ask you to make a sign (A4 paper and normal ballpoint pen will do :) ) Saying #MyTownHelpingJoost with the town where you live and sharing it? The idea is to get pictures from around the world to get media attention for Joost's struggle. Please send you pictures to [email protected] , add them on twitter @JoostagainstMS or post them on his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/joostagainstms/?fref=ts

Thank you all so much!! :)

This treatment needs to become available to everyone in need. The more it is proven, the better.
