Campaign Story
Hi. Im Jon Taylor and this October I'm walking the Te Araroa Trail, from Cape Reinga to Bluff to support a cause that's very important to me. As a victim of domestic violence, I'm endevouring to raise awareness that men can also be victims of domestic violence. Along with a like minded organization, ( http://www.blackribbon.org.nz/ ), we want to take a message to the whole country and stand up for all men who are in domestic violence situations or are in situations where they have had to leave their families and have little or no support. There is a growing number of domestic violence cases and just under 50% of those are men yet there is no structured support system in place for them, Help us do something to let them know someone cares... I have a been given an assurance that if I can raise half the money needed, it will be generously matched which is amazing.
I have successfully raised enough to cover the cost of the gear needed ( tent, backpack, boots etc ) and am now seriously working on raising the shortfall. Anything anyone can offer would be a great help and, if everyone could share this cause with one other, just maybe, together we can light a fire no-one can ignore.
Please, help me walk for all those who cannot and give them the gift of hope. Thank you.
