Hi guys! This my beloved Jojo, a 10 year old mother to four lovely puppies. While she was pregnant with them four years ago, it left a considerably strain on her spine. Unfortunately, this deteriorated to her developing an intervertebral disc disease in her lower spine. This caused a pressure on her spinal cord and nerves which caused her a lot of pain. The sight of her whimpering while she slept was hard to watch. Upon consultation, my family had to spend quite a sum on a few surgeries for jojo in order to remove a portion of the bony vertebrae over her spinal cord (laminectomy), in hopes of curing her. The surgeries were successful in the sense that it eased her pain, but it left her paralysed in her lower half. She lost control of her bowels and crippled in her hind limbs.
Nonetheless, our beloved jojo remained positive! Making due with her disability and still being a happy dog and loving mother to Jacky. We loved her all the same and she's lived like this for four years so far. However, in the recent months, she began showing signs of her disc disease again. She would whimper whenever she lies down or moves, and she can no longer crawl around like she used to. The vet gives it till the the end of this year before her condition becomes too severe to treat. My family is currently in a tight spot financially and we cannot afford another surgery for jojo. I'm growing increasingly worried that jojo will become completely paralysed if we don't get her some treatment. My family is doing the best they can, but we have other financial priorities at the moment. I've pooled together my savings to pay for her surgery, but it barely covers 1/5 of the cost.
I recently heard about this fund raiser from a friend, so I'm turning to this as a last resort to raise some money for her surgery. I know to some, spending money on a dog would seem stupid, but it isn't to me. I love her more than anything and it kills me not being able to help her. $6000 isn't enough to pay for the full treatment, surgery as well as hospitalisation costs, but it'll definitely go a long way in helping my family raise enough for her surgery. Thank you for hearing me out, and any amount will be greatly appreciated. God bless.
