Memorial Donations for Jojo V. Malferrari

Jose "Jojo" Malferrari, was an extraordinarily talented and joyful man. He touched the lives of many through his music, whether through teaching his students or during his time with Repertory Philippines. He was someone who brought light into the lives of others through his gifted touch as a pianist.

He was recently struggling with issues pertaining to his health, resulting in a hospitalization of almost 4 months. He underwent 3 surgeries, with a major one: a quad-bypass heart surgery.

Initially, his road to recovery seemed promising, with his face livening back up mere days after his major surgery. However, following the surgery, he had several roadblocks to recovery which stemmed from his long history with diabetes. He was in and out of dialysis, and the ICU, while also undergoing physical rehab. His healing was also made difficult due to a recurring infection at the original site of surgery.

On the 7th of March, with his consent, his siblings signed a DNR (do-not-resuscitate) order so as to no longer prolong his suffering and allow him to rest. And at around 5:58PM the same day, he returned peacefully into the arms of the Creator.

We, the Malferrari family, are reaching out to his friends, acquaintances, and anyone with a good and generous heart to help with his memorial fund. We would have wished for nothing more than to see and hear him sit behind the keys once more and do what makes him the happiest: share his gift of music with the world. This, however, was not meant to be. Any help is greatly and warmly appreciated. You will our family's unending gratitude.
