Jojo’s Kidney Operation and Medication

Greetings to everyone!

My name is Janne Arnaiz, eldest daughter of Jojo Arnaiz. I am currently working in a BPO company and my father is working as a driver. I am the breadwinner of the family since my mother passed away due to breast cancer on December 2012.

I am humbly asking for your helping hand to raise a fund for my father's operation in kidney. On December 2018, he had gone through Kidney, Urinary Bladder and Prostate Gland Ultrasound and a well-defined heterogenous mass measuring about 7.08 x 5.20 cm has been seen in his left kidney (renal cyst). We have consulted some doctors - IM (Internal Medicine) and Urologist in order to determine his illness. We were requested for a plain CT Scan in kidney to identify the mass seen on his ultrasound.

After completing the CT Scan, we were told that the mass shown on his ultrasound is a tumor measuring 7 x 8 cm by this time. We were advised to prepare at least P350,000 - P400, 000 in Asia Medic Family Hospital (Dasma) for the operation to remove his left kidney. Due to lack of financial capability, we have consulted for 3rd opinion and we went to PGH (Philippine General Hospital). This time, the diagnosis is Renal Mass t/c Malignancy which means the mass in his kidney is 90% cancerous and needs to be removed immediately. Since his left kidney is no longer functioning well, his right kidney compensates and if it will also be affected by the tumor, he will need to undergo a dialysis for a lifetime.

We were given a timeline on what to do before the operation and how much it is going to cost. However, we would need to do more tests in order to determine what type of operation should be done and to also check if his heart & lungs can take the operation. We were advised to undergo Laparascopic Surgery which costs P20,000. Below are the requested tests before he undergo the said surgery:

* CXR Xray

* Abd CT w/ IVC

* IVC Doppler

* CXR PA

* Transthoracic Echodiography (2D Echo + Doppler)

Approximate amount that needs to be raised will also includes pre-operation, bills and everyday expenses in the hospital, medicines, other miscellaneous if further tests need to be done and post operation expenses.
