Join us in bringing joy and creativity to Ukrainian children affected by the ongoing war. With over 8 million refugees, 48% of whom are women with children, the need for support is greater than ever. That's why we created PLAY! in Berlin, a program that offers a space for free play, art, and music to children and their families.
Our team of cultural workers and volunteers organize weekly workshops, including drawing, crafts, music, dance, animation, theater, quests, and games. Our goal is to build a friendly and inviting community and allow the children to have fun in a warm and inviting environment.
One more important and much-loved tradition is to finish Play! with a warm meal. It brings us together and makes us feel at home. Our volunteers cook while the workshops are going on. We host 60 to 120 people each week!
We’ve been running these workshops every week since the beginning of the war relying on personal finances, occasional donations, and most recently a grant of 5000 from ‘Kulturstiftung der Länder’, but these funds are running out and we need more resources.
To keep PLAY! going, we need your help. We're seeking 440€ per week (1320€ per month) to provide food, tea and coffee, materials, and minimum fees for the professional artists who run the workshops.
We started PLAY! because we believe that every child deserves a chance to just be a child, even in the midst of conflict and turmoil.
Join us in supporting Ukrainian families and providing a space for joy and creativity!
