Campaign Story
As some of you may know, my sister Leah, and her family Jason, Kylie, and Peyton, welcomed a nine year old boy into their home on February 25. Jacob, like Peyton, has Down Syndrome. Since Leah found out Jacob was entering the foster care system she has fought to have him in their home where she knows she can get him the therapy and care he needs. Jacob spent almost seven months in the system while Leah fought for his needs; she has gone above and beyond to make sure Jacob is provided for. What this effectively means is Leah has become a full time social worker, nurse, mom to three, wife and chauffeur. She has taken numerous days off ensuring Jacob's IEP is up to date, organizing his numerous therapies, and following up with all of his evaluations, paying out of pocket with effectively no financial assistance from the state. As a result of her tremendous efforts, Jacob is thriving in their home.
This has been the best place for Jacob to end up. It has, however, been an emotional roller coaster for their family. If you could help their family financially, it would mean the world to them and to me. Whatever you can afford to give would be so much appreciated, every dollar helps. THANKS!
