Care for Dignity and Innovation (CDI) is a non-government organization registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002 on 17th of February 2018, operating in Tanzania mainland with registration number 0009527.

CDI works to promote sustainable livelihoods, decent health, quality education to children with disabilities and Provide psycho-social support to women and young girls who are experiencing gender based violence and providing free legal services to these marginalized groups.

Between 2019-2020 CDI organizations have successful reach 95 disable children who have joined school in which the number increases on daily basis due to the ongoing outreach activities conducted by the team. The total number is from two wards Buswelu and Lwanima of Illemela district in Mwanza region.

CDI have been able to support nine wheelchairs to physical disable children, renovate and install electricity to disable class. Furthermore CDI has been able to provide learning devices such as sign language books and water storage facilities.

All the time CDI has been supported by the individual volunteers both local and international to achieve its goals. However since March 2020 we have experienced several challenges after the outbreak of COVID 19 which led to not full filling several tasks planned. We are recently fundraising 2000 USD to help us buying 3 wheelchairs, five sewing machines to help young girls who are school dropouts so they can access vocational training, purchasing school materials such as uniforms shoes and books.

However CDI welcomes material donations direct to our office in case you have free sewing machine, disable learning facilities and clothes. For further information kindly let us know through [email protected]
