I desire this generation to be remembered as the visionary change agents that transformed the course of this Nation for Unity, Peace and Progress. Our generation needs to take a stand against the downward spiral of present state of affairs that has robbed us of the benefits of the abundant wealth we collectively own.

Achieving Sustainable Development for our People and Land is my life’s pursuit; it is the purpose that underlines all my actions. As a people, if we rise now, to work hard towards the greatness we desire, it is possible to become what we envision, live our every dream and preserve our heritage. We can build a better society for ourselves and our posterity if we each focus on a collective vision as a means to an end rather than ourselves.

I am committed to representing the common interest, collective aspirations and paving way for vistas of opportunities. Together, I believe we can achieve the much-needed development through the influence of policy by sponsoring and supporting bills, pressure groups, formal lobbies and representations, the media and respected ‘public opinion drivers’ on creating awareness, reviewing and implementation of existing rights and policies as stipulated by the law.

I’ve identified challenges impeding the achievement of policies, authenticating the reality of issues affecting implementation, assessing impact of policies on current realities, articulating informed options, continuously interacting with diverse groups for feedback and relevant approaches to the needs of the people. And addressing challenges based on priority measures thereby consequently, improving the quality of life of our people. The road ahead is a tough one, we need to be determined to stay firm in our resolve to building a better society, and this is succinctly captured in the quote;

The historic civic challenges of our generation is liberation, not from the shackles of colonialism and imperialist ideologies, but liberation from an attitude of disorderly and impoverished political and social ambiance that has held our society hostage.

Some would argue that we are free, of what consequence is that though when the people still cannot be assured right to life?

We have always been on the news recently for the wrong reasons, people are massacred while the government folds its arms, poverty is abject despite the trillions being budgeted, “simple” diseases still claim lives in avoidable situations and by global analysis, we currently have an administration that claims to fight corruption is the most corrupt this country has ever had.

However, it is not time to give up! We cannot remain social media critics, getting PVC’s is not even enough, we have to be a generation that will hold the record for the most legendary commitment to end the oppression of poor governance. We have to call on everyone to fight for independence from mediocrity. While we all agree that there are scars still fresh from the battles of the recent past, it would be right to rationalise the coming elections as levelling the huge misery imposed by corrupt leaders who have sold our future to mass poverty in the midst of plenty.

The challenge is for all of us to get actively involved, each of us is a stakeholder in this quest to build a better tomorrow, there is no room for complacency, and there is no justification for not playing our part in the fight for liberation from ineptitude and the restoration of our society.
