Joseph here, I'm hoping to complete my first & second year course with the University of Hong Kong, having already been accepted to their Management of Logistics & Transportation course.
I have yet to raise my tuition fees which are due around second week of November. The two year course would total to $110,000 HKD and is divided into four instalments, I’m hope to pay off the remaining balance of $25,000 for my first semester to continue studying with the university.
I have been studying in Hong Kong all my life with my single mother - who unfortunately is no longer able to financially support me as she has no visa to remain and work in Hong Kong and has thus returned home to the Philippines. Many supportive, loving families & communities have been responsible in raising and nurturing me over the years, and are the reason I have been able to progress to the level I am at. For this, I am very grateful.
At the moment I am not able to apply for a government grant/loans as I only hold a student visa, nor am I allowed to earn even though I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I have lived here long enough to finally attain my right of abode (Permanent HK ID Card) which I have applied for and expect to receive by February 2018. Once I have my permanent HK ID card I am allowed to work and earn for my studies
I consider Hong Kong my permanent home as I'm deeply rooted into its society, from being an active citizen, to representing my home with my sporting abilities in rugby. I'm very passionate and enthusiastic about my strengths & abilities which in return I look forward to giving back one day when I can finally stand on my own two feet, whether it's sportsmanship wise or just being a good citizen of Hong Kong :)
I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and will be very grateful for every donation made toward my further education.
Please share your support by helping Joe stay in Hong Kong!
