Joe and Hollie are getting married. They appreciate that people like to offer gifts as a way of wishing them well for the future. But nothing would give them more joy than for those gifts to go in the form of donations to THE GOOD GRIEF PROJECT a charity they love and want to see develop as one of the best creative resources for bereaved families in the UK.
Here's the story - Joe's brother and Hollie's best friend Josh Edmonds died six years ago in a road accident in Vietnam. Since then his family have worked tirelessly to create what is now THE GOOD GRIEF PROJECT.
The charity has two main aims:
Firstly to support families grieving after the untimely death of a loved one, particularly the death of a child. They do this by encouraging a creative response to grief and by looking for new ways of expressing the pain of loss with various art forms and media.
And secondly to to promote an understanding of what it means to grieve in a society that often has difficulty talking openly about death, dying and bereavement - they do this with their films and talks.
Joe and Hollie plan to honour Josh at their wedding, ensuring his soul and his presence is felt on such an important day to them. But they also want to honour his memory with the work carried out by THE GOOD GRIEF PROJECT which they now ask you to support.
"Any donation however small or large means a lot to us and we thank you in advance for helping us to remember our best friend and brother."
With Love from Joe and Hollie
