Raise funding for Joaqui's medical expenses.

Joaquin Angelo, 4 years old

Diagnosed to have Classic Galactosemia and G6PD through newborn screening. At a very young age his fragile body suffered hyperbilirubinemia and stayed in the hospital for nearly a month. He had exchange transfusion and a couple of blood transfusions.

Joaqui's grown like any other child who would play, have tantrums, laugh, cry and indeed very healthy. He is very active, bubbly and smart too. Although his speech is sort of delayed, which by the way is one of the effects of having Galactosemia, his cognitive skills are excellent according to his nursery teacher. He has a very strict diet which we followed from day 1 up until now. He loves cars, likes making confetti all the time may it be paperbag, empty cardbox or as simple as newspaper or any paper.

In May 2015, he was again hospitalized due to hemolytic crisis. But then it wasn't just a hemolytic crisis, instead he was already showing one of the symptoms of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Doctors advised to have Joaqui undergo bone marrow aspiration for a test called Flow Cytometry, 2 weeks after we got the results and it was confirmed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with a blast/cancer cell percentage of 74%.

Even after being diagnosed to have leukemia he remained the same active, jolly, always smiling and playful little boy.

His chemotherapy started last June 2015 and the treatment is working. Since chemo started he had 2 bone marrow tests and it came out normal marrow or what they call remission. He is now on Phase 2 of the Treatment Protocol for ALL with intensified drugs which makes him weak after but goes back to his old self after a day.

Seeing him fight everyday, welcoming the pain of being injected by various drugs, needle after needle, who are we to stop and give up. However his hospital confinements and treatment costs are getting out of hand. Angela is the full time carer. We are struggling to make ends meet including other expenses.

Since the leukemia diagnosis, We have already spent roughly PhP 340,000.00 and Joaqui's additional procedures and medication are already beyond our financial capabilities.

Your support will be such a blessing for us,

Angela Fabian and Jeff Domingo, Joaqui's parents
