Joanna’s Medical Expenses

Hi everyone!

It is indeed tough times as I write about my daughter, Joanna Czarina, as she faces a difficult obstacle with her health. It was discovered that she developed an Aortic Aneurysm at the young age of 31. My family and I are asking for financial assistance to help in raising enough money to pay for my daughter’s medical expenses.

Here is a timeline of the events that has transpired in the last month:

July 6th. The day we were informed that there is an incidental finding in Joanna’s X-ray. After repeated X-rays, she was asked to undergo a Chest CT-Scan.

July 27. Her Chest CT-Scan showed a 7cm Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. We were advised not to go home anymore as we need to immediately address her case. We need to make sure that she’s stable and free from any stress so that all procedures that will be done to her will give favourable results.

July 28. We were informed that she needs to undergo 2 major surgeries: Debranching of the Aorta and Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR).

July 30. Her first major operation, debranching was done. It lasted from 10am to past 5pm (preparation included).

August 1. Her second major operation, TEVAR was done. It lasted from 10am to 6:30pm (preparation included).

We were informed by her doctor that she was their youngest and most difficult case so far. Dr. Alzate, one of her cardiologists, told me that we came to St. Luke’s BGC at the right place and at the right time. They were able to save her life and she now has the chance to live longer and healthier. The Lord loves her so much that He gave her the right doctors who can perfectly handle her case.

We are still in St. Luke’s BGC (a hospital in Manila) while she’s on her way to recovery. We are knocking on your doors to help us fund and cover her medical bills. Our current running bill is already PHP3.5M. We were able to surpass our most difficult challenge. We know that with your help and prayers, we can also take care of her other medical needs.
