Campaign Story
Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent "
Hi friends I'm Jiselle, a 28 year old cancer warrior. It has been a wonderful life God has bestowed upon me for the past years of my existence, having a loving family, a fulfilling job opportunity abroad (Singapore)and great friends until one day, came an unexpected turning point of my life. Last October 11, 2017 the doctor found out that I have this serious health condition termed as Myelodysplastic Syndrome which lately transformed as Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (a blood and bone marrow cancer of its type). That moment I'm bargaining to God trying to question Him of all people why me? 😢Despite of me being disobedient to His will sometimes, I still did things in accordance to His desires but why? I'm still young, I've been entrusted with a huge responsibility to my family, I'm working for them to have a better living and now with this condition I'm suffering with, will I still be able to make it possible 😔 I have so much in mind, discouraged, hopeless, helpless nearly wanted to quit in life but with the same reason, I found inspiration from my family, friends and to God Almighty . I must fight for them and continue living my life to the fullest.
I spent a week in the hospital (Singapore General Hospital) until my doctor advised me to undergo series of chemotherapy. I flew back to the Philippines to start my treatment and further manage my condition with the thought in mind that it's cheaper and be with my family to fight together with it.
After a session of chemotherapy, I thought everything would be okay but actually it isn't, I experienced several complications which prompted the need to stay in the hospital for close monitoring and further evaluation of the treatment. Finally, after several laboratory examinations, result have been explained to us and praise God my flow cytometry (a diagnostic exam) showed partial remission (improvement). Everyone is thankful for what God has been doing in my life.
Amidst of the great results of my treatment it doesn't change the fact that I'm still having this cancer and the only way to totally cure me with this disease is a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Having been explained to us the process and the expenses of the treatment it seems we're being brought back from what we've felt when I was diagnosed with this condition. Knowing that Bone marrow transplant in the Philippines will cost us 3-4 M pesos ($60,000-$80,000 USD) it will take me too long to undergo such treatment. We don't have that huge amount to settle for it. In the meantime, I will have to continue with consolidation chemotherapy cycle until we can provide enough money for the procedure.
With this regard, together with my friends and family we would want to humbly ask for your kind heart to help us raise funds for my treatment. I may not know you and either you know me, but God will be the one to reciprocate whatever help you may extend for me. Matthew 6:4 " so that your giving may be in secret. And your God who sees you in secret will reward you "
Any amount or kind of help will be greatly appreciated. Please include me in your prayers too:-)
