I'm Jennelyn, the oldest and the sole breadwinner of my big family. My father died last year just after my sister died due to pneumonia. We are still drained because of what had happened and we have not fully recovered from this. My mother is doing some sideline jobs and whatever small money she gets from it, she tries to make it work for the whole family to survive. I'm mostly away from them because I need to earn money so I can support all their needs and even if I feel exhausted both physically and mentally, I just can't stop even for a day. This also hurts me more because it also means my children will be away from me.
September 13 when I heard the bad news from my mom that my youngest brother, JM is having intense pain in his lower abdomen. He already vomited and quite restless so they had to bring him to the nearest hospital, where there are lesser COVID cases. I immediately resigned to my current job, got my last paycheck, packed my things, and traveled back home as soon as I can. After he got tested, the results came and it was confirmed his appendix is about to rupture anytime plus he is COVID positive. We cannot afford another swab test to reconfirm his COVID test result so we waited for further advice from the doctor. My brother is in so much pain and has a fever since last night. I can't do anything. We need to wait for the surgeon. He was already given dextrose, pain reliever, and antibiotics to manage the situation.
The surgeon arrived and he discussed the situation to us, how much it will gonna cost us if we proceed for operation because right after he checked my brother, it was confirmed that his appendix already ruptured and needs immediate surgery. An estimated of 300k+ and my mind is swirling on this figure because I don't know where and how I can get this amount in a short period of time. We already asked financial help from our families and relatives but still, it's not enough because not all of them are able to give at this time of the pandemic. I understand it and it hurts me more as I don't have other means.
I asked help to the surgeon and he was kind enough to refer us to a government hospital where there will be lesser cost. We traveled to East Avenue to transfer my brother there and get immediate care. They did the test again and still, his appendix is in bad shape. They have to wait for the PT and PTT values to return to normal so they can perform surgery as soon as possible. We can maximize PhilHealth care here with the help of my uncle's wife.
Now all I need to face are the ward fee, which is P400/day, quarantine expenses including the medications, food for us who stay with him 24/7, fare going back and forth, and all my debts.
God is good despite the challenges we are facing right now.
My aunt suggested creating this fundraising campaign in the hopes of reaching your hearts...asking God to touch them for me so you can hear me in whatever languages you are speaking.
Please help me get back on my feet and sustain my family in these trying times.
Thank you very much for your kindness.
Your P1 will go a long, long way.
If you decide to be our prayer warrior, we are grateful for keeping us in your thoughts.
My brother's GCASH details so you can send directly and hopefully you won't get additional charges when you donate.

The ward is overUpdate posted by Jennelyn Clidoro at 05:38 am
My brother was discharged yesterday afternoon (September 22) even if his 2nd swab test result is not yet given. Since he is still young and no symptoms of COVID, home quarantine is suitable to us as advised by his doctor. We will need to adhere to 14 days home quarantine. . . . .
Battle in the wardUpdate posted by Jennelyn Clidoro at 05:50 pm
I can't take my eyes off with my brother because even if the surgery was over, the continuous fever never left him. I have to stay awake, wipe his body with a wet cloth, and monitor his temperature. I can't feel tired nor exhausted because I have to be strongest. . . . .
I am now in the ward together with my recovering brotherUpdate posted by Jennelyn Clidoro at 03:21 am
My brother is now in the ward and continuously recovering. I've decided to join him in the ward as I need to personally attend to all his needs. Only a handful of nurses are in this area and I know they cannot attend to each patient right away. I have
Scheduled operation and recoveryUpdate posted by Jennelyn Clidoro at 03:05 am
JM was scheduled for an appendectomy, September 15 and we all prayed so he can survive this greatest challenge. The doctor explained that he was injected with anesthesia on his spine so they could numb from lower extremities up to the chest. He was positioned in his side and awake. . . . .
