There is no doubt about it. The ‘What’s In The Box’ fundraising campaign we ran in appreciation of Daniela and the hardworking Jus In Bello team in 2015 was a resounding success. Just in case you need a reminder of what we managed to achieve, at JIB6 a cheque for the amount of $5000 was proudly presented to Random Acts and that was down to the generosity and support of a lot of people – the JIB family. What’s more we managed to surprise Daniela, something that does not happen often I’m told

For JIB7 & JIBLAND, we would love to be able to do something similar but instead of supporting one charity, we would like to raise funds on behalf of a number of charities close to the hearts of the guests who will be attending and this year we have chosen four very worthy causes to be the beneficiaries. The charities chosen are:

Random Acts

The brainchild of Misha Collins and the adopted charity of the Supernatural fandom. This non-profit organisation has been helping others all around the world one random act of kindness at a time most recently in Nicaragua. For more information about Random Acts please go to http://www.randomacts.org

To Write Love on Her Arms

As Supernatural fans we are more than aware of the Always Keep Fighting campaign that Jensen and in particularly Jared have a huge passion for. Dealing with depression is something that many of us can identify with whether personally or through someone we know. To Write Love on Her Arms is another non-profit organisation that provides support to those people who feel they have none. For more information about TWLOHA please go to https://twloha.com

International Diabetes Foundation

Children with diabetes need insulin and expert medical care to survive and thrive. Mark Sheppard’s son happens to be one of them, which is why he regularly campaigns to raise awareness of this disease. The Life for a Child Program provides essential supplies, diabetes education resources, and health professional training to diabetes centres in 46 less-resourced nations. 17,000 children and young adults are supported by the program. For more information please go to http://www.lifeforachild.org

Bloodwise

This is a charity regularly supported and promoted by JIBLAND guest Sam Heughan. The mission of Bloodwise is very simple and that is to beat blood cancer, to make patients’ lives better and to stop blood cancers happening in the first place. A premise I think we can all agree with. For more information on this organisation go to https://bloodwise.org.uk

Admittedly we are starting this campaign later than last year so we may not reach the $5000 we managed to do at JIB6. However any amount of money we can raise will be truly appreciated and will be divided equally among the four chosen charities.

As usual over the next few months until JIB7/JIBLAND we will do our utmost to persuade people to donate by launching incentives, prizes & competitions. The JIB family has such a generous spirit that I have confidence that we can do something very special again

Thanks everyone in advance
