BACK STORY

Venessa, the youngest in the family lived in a shanty with 7 relatives, while her mother Eva, an OFW for many years in Saudi Arabia worked extra hard to little by little build a simple home for the family.

Just when they were about to finish building their house, a fire broke out and destroyed everything. All the hard work and their dreams of having a decent place to live in was gone in an instant.

Everything was burned to ashes.

The Saulog family had a tough time recovering and finding hope in their situation.
For 4 years, they are living in a home without a bathroom and a door to keep them safe at night.

Members of the family have to ride a tricycle or take a 5-minute walk to a public market just to use the bathroom.

JFM FEEDING PROGRAM

One day, through JFM Foundation’s Public School Daily Feeding Program, Venessa was connected to us. She was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of our feeding outreach, where we provide freshly cooked meals for 100 undernourished / poor students everyday.

Since then, she had been faithfully attending church, joining Life Group Bible studies, and started volunteering in our feeding outreaches despite her family’s living condition.

We were blessed to see how she has chosen to be a blessing to others and would want to spread this message of strength, hope & God’s love to those who will see this fundraising project.

Their family needs our help.

Jesus said, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
(1 John 3: 17-18)

This fundraising project is an open door for all of us to express God’s love through our actions. With us working together, the heavy burden will be made lighter.
