As of May 7 2019, my eldest dog "Jessie" was diagnosed with Erlichia. Doctors said it was "Super Erlichia" because Jessie's platelets are currently at 45. And it's too low and her gums were almost white and her eyes were teary but we did not notice it right away as she finishes her food and she was not feeling down in the past few days. The doctor said we need at least 1 month of medication and to bring her back every 1-2 weeks to observe her platelets. Doctors advised us to confine Jessie in the clinic but we declined as we cannot afford the P1,500 per day in the vet. My salary can only afford their dog food every 2 weeks and cannot afford the antibiotics for days and a chewable Front Line to lessen the ticks. Jessie is with 3 more other dogs and the doctors suggested to also let them take in Front Line to lessen the ticks and fleas.
