Campaign Story
I am currently attending Tarleton State University majoring in Wildlife Management. I am working towards getting a job in a zoo. Part of my degree plan includes completing an internship to graduate. One way I can fulfill the internship requirement is to study abroad in South Africa.
Tarleton offers many different study abroad opportunities divided into categories by departments. The agriculture department has made their program around South Africa. Studying abroad in entails going to the country and completing about six credit hours or two classes. One of these classes can be counted towards our internship credit. However, not only would I be getting my internship class credit and another class credit, I would also be getting to visit another country and grow as a person from the experience.
The trip would be this summer and consist of one week at my university learning the material and learning about South Africa to prepare for the trip and then four weeks in South Africa as an extended field trip putting what we learned in class to action. The fees and additional money would include paying for all in-country expenses - lodging, meals, excursions, and in-country transportation, and the flight to and from Johannesburg, South Africa.
What animals are in South Africa? Elephants, lions, giraffes, etc.. Most animals found in zoos. If I study abroad in South Africa and go to apply for jobs after I graduate I will be turning in a resume that says "Studied Abroad in South Africa". That would definitely put me at the top of the list compared to most people applying.
Please help me fulfill my dream of studying abroad and send me to South Africa for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
