Campaign Story
My story:
4 months ago I took a much needed break from my frantic Sydney life.
Fast forward 2 months and I was I sat with my travel buddy having lunch in a beautiful piazza in Lake Como in Italy. Whilst reminiscing about the adventures we had been on, the amazing accommodation we had stayed in and the lavish dinners we’d eaten, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for where I was both literally and metaphorically. It was then I decided that at some point in my life, I wanted to help others less fortunate than myself by donating my time and skills (I surely have some?!) to education and a community project somewhere in the world.
Fast forward 6 weeks and it’s happeningI!! In 2 weeks time I’m heading to Talagan, a remote village in The Philippenes to volunteer in their local community for 3 weeks before heading back to life in Sydney. I’ll be helping to build a school, teaching the kids English and hopefully making a difference. I might even teach them a song or 2. Or 3. And maybe a dance.
In addition to my time, I would love to raise some money for the school to go towards school supplies, building materials and even basics such as food and water. Every single penny I raise will go directly to the school and I will give this to them as a surprise on my final day there.
So I’m asking very kindly, if you have any spare change, I would so so appreciate any donations to this school and the community of Talagan. If I can give even one child half a chance of receiving the type of education and start in life that myself and so many of my nearest and dearest were so fortunate enough to have been given, I will be one happy girl.
Bring on the challenge :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
