Jenny’s Oxygen Machine

I need help getting funding for an oxygen machine for my granny, she has end stage COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which cannot be cured or will not get better. Her lungs are not able to separate the oxygen in the air which is needed to expel the carbon dioxide in her lungs and that is what the oxygen concentrater (machine) does for her so her system can get rid of the carbon dioxide.

We bought a small portable machine a few years back but it is only a stop gap for when we go out, usually a couple of hours maximum then my Granny needs to get back to big machine. The concentration of the oxygen in the small machine is only about 30% whereas the big machine it is 95%.

We would like to buy the bigger machine which is a portable which gives out oxygen at 98% on all settings. This machine can run on main power, rechargeable battery as well as from the car cigarette lighter socket.

This will enable my Granny to live a fuller life and be able to go out for longer periods and also an overnight trip to visit family and friends.

The state hospital pays for the big machine but it is too heavy and cumbersome to move around, and in any event we are not supposed to take it out of the flat.

There is always the worry that the hospital will not pay the account for the hire of the machine as the government has a history of not paying their commitments then we will be in the soup.
