Jeff and Jeena – Love is Sweet

My name is Jeff and I am in love with Jeena. I proposed to her back in July of 2014, and we've been working hard on preparing for our wedding in February of 2015 (it's almost here!). Due to some set backs, which I will get into in just a bit, I am asking for your help through financial backing to help launch our wedding!

Jeena and I have been dating for just over six years. We have survived a couple years of long distance with me having grown up in Oregon and her being from Texas. After I graduated from university I moved out towards Houston landing my first job in campus ministry in Austin, TX. From there I've worked to close the location gap by moving to Houston and have experienced a period of unemployment before landing another job in the Houston area so we could be in the same city. I've always known that I wanted to marry Jeena, but due to my personal financial instability even saving money for an engagement ring took me quite a bit! The way Jeena has shown patience and support through my transitions allows me to know that we have a chance at something special.

In December of 2014, just before Christmas, I was taking some friends to the airport and another car swerved into mine. Thankfully no one involved in the car accident was seriously injured, but this would result in the total loss of my vehicle. This break in luck now results in money that we had pledged to vendors (via deposits, etc.) being tied up as I await to hear from insurance.

My fiancée has been looking forward to her wedding day since she was a child. Dreaming up ideas and concepts of her big day. To help reduce costs of our wedding she has turned to DIY projects enlisting the help of friends. Though we are blessed to have families that support our relationship and marriage, neither of us come from a wealthy family background. And though our familys have given what they can the recent auto accident has really set us back. Seeing her go to these lengths to bring about our wedding has inspired me to reach out in hopes of finding others who would be willing to help financially.

Through this series of events I came across GoGetFunding in hopes of raising money to cover wedding expenses for our special day. We are looking to raise $15,000 (breakdown to follow) by February 21, 2015. If we are able to raise more than $15,000 to cover the costs of our wedding we will treat that as a wedding gift and use it towards our honeymoon as we start our life together (currently we are not planning a honeymoon as we will be in the market for a replacement vehicle) .
