Hello my name is Jedidiah Jacobson, I am currently a Junior in High School. I was recently nominated to attend the Nation Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine at Stanford University in San Francisco California this summer. I am planning on going into the Navy after college as a Physician’s Assistant. I have had my mind set on the medical field ever since I began volunteering at my local Hospital in the Summer of 2012. Since then I have Logged over 100 hours of volunteerism at the hospital and a total of about 280 total hours volunteering in several organizations throughout my community.
Being nominated to this prestigious program really means alot to me and I would benefit greatly from attending. However, my family is unable to pay for the complete program. I have $400.00 in my savings account from after school jobs that I have worked and am currently working. The tuition of the program is $2695.00 but after Travel and fee’s it is a total cost of about $3000.00. I am reaching out and asking for the help of my community to allow me to attend this great opportunity. I would appreciate any amount of donation from $5 to $500. Your help would mean the world to me.
Not only would a program like this assist me in getting scholarships for college, but it would boost my application into medical school soon after. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity would also give me a hands on look at medicine from the perspective of many different health care professionals that I have observed through my volunteer work.
