JCI Manila Empower

JCI Manila is a premier leadership development organization composed of young professionals, businessmen, and entrepreneurs committed to socio-civic work and to the development of leadership skills to its members and creation of positive change in the community.

As part of our Community Development Program (EMPOWER), JCI Manila, in partnership with INCOMTEC Philippines and Tahanang Walang Hagdanan is launching “EMPOWER: Project Equal Calling” – a venture to build a call center facility in Tahanang Walang Hagdanan.

EMPOWER aims to establish and operate a sustainable call center facility in Tahanang Walang Hagdanan to help provide job opportunities to persons with disability (PWD). This facility will also be used as a training center to ensure continuous growth and development of the beneficiaries of the program and sustain the employment needs of the call center as it grows. Lastly, the project will lay the groundwork in establishing a foundation that will be responsible for carrying on the long term operations of the call center.

It cannot be denied, PWD’s are given unequal opportunities when it comes to employment. No matter how highly skilled a PWD is, he /she is put at a disadvantage due to the fact that our country, especially workplaces, is not PWD friendly. There are PWD’s that have undergone call center training and have been deemed qualified to be call center agents but have a hard time finding or sticking to a job due to difficulty in transportation going to work.

It is the belief of JCI Manila that PWD’s need to be EMPOWERED in order for them to be able to use fully their skills and knowledge for the greater good.
