Jasmine is our 7 year old daughter, sister, and the youngest in our family. She was recently diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. It started out as a small bump over her left eyelid that progressively got bigger over the course of 3 weeks. Everyone in the family started to get worried. So eventually, we brought her to multiple doctors and had her do tests and scans. It was a long process full of prayers, travelling, doctor’s appointments and waiting. Her condition got to a point where her eye was very swollen and was no longer aligned properly. She could not see very well. She would get headaches and could barely open or move it. Our mom was the only one who could stay with her while she got admitted to the hospital. She went through an MRI scan and a biopsy which were both not very pleasant experiences for a kid her age, along with needles that she will never get used to. She hates needles a lot and wishes she didn’t have to do anymore injections or blood tests. Her current situation is better than what she has been through the last month. The swelling has gone down after her first chemotherapy sessions. Despite her tummy aches and strict orders from her doctors to stay indoors, she is very happy to be home with her family. But unfortunately her chemo will have to continue for another 10 months. Her tumor is an aggressive type, the goal is to save her life and prevent it from spreading elsewhere in her body.

So we are asking for everybody’s help so she can recover speedily and carefully. She has many hopes and dreams. She still wants to be her mom’s flower girl at their wedding. She wants to have a lego dragon that she’s been asking for a while now. She wants to stay home, join children’s classes, play with her cousin and friends and not go back to the hospital where the scary needles are. Despite the sleepless nights and worrying about what would happen the next day, we are all wishing, hoping, trusting God, and praying that all of us will overcome these difficulties as a family.

This fundraiser is for her hospital and medical bills; chemotherapy, radiation, MRI scans, postchemo meds and transportation. We need all the help we can receive. Your prayers and donations will be highly appreciated. Please share this! Jasmine will be very happy to see that everyone cares and wishes for her healthy recovery and healing! Thank you very much!
