Jasi’s India Trip

Dear Family and Friends,

I want to share with you a challenging International Studies opportunity that Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) has presented to me starting March 7 and lasting for two weeks.  It affords me an opportunity to go to India for International Studies, along with selected High School students from TSD.   During this 14-day field trip we will be reaching out and sharing news about the TSD students/friends and family while also learning more about the people there, their culture, their spoken language, and India Sign Language as well.

I am writing you this letter regarding my goal to reach the $3,500 costs for flight, lodging and meals expenses.   It would be not only exciting news but also a wonderful experience for me if I reach this goal.

While International Studies has opened up this door for me this coming spring to develop a greater compassion for deaf people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this several ways. First, you can help pray for my group and me. We need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we visit the people of India. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time we need to raise funds for each of us to participate in this trip, and that is quite a challenge!

Another way you can be involved is to help provide financial support. Would you please consider supporting me with a small donation? I have included a postage-paid envelope for you to use if you feel led to contribute. I will need to raise all my funds by November 2013 in order to pay for my airfare, lodging, meals and sponsoring India’s children to stay in school. I am extremely excited to be a part of the India studies aboard program next spring.  I am really looking forward to this trip, learning the politics, learning the language, and learning the people-- truly a once in a lifetime experience.
