Maybe you know Jarrett from a "handyman" job he's done for you. You might have crossed paths, having taken a LYFT ride with him, and discovered what a loving, gentle, empathetic and compassionate soul he is! And just as likely, Jarrett has resolved your technical problems with your office or home computer systems (he's been a "Geek" from a young age!) Maybe you've stumbled upon this site, and are drawn to Jarrett's story and journey. If you'e one of his longtime friends, you already know how beautiful and special Jarrett is.

No matter how you got here -- JARRETT NEEDS YOU RIGHT NOW!

We ALL Face challenges, and are confronted with difficulties. And Jarrett is no different, EXCEPT for the fact he continues to receive "Knock-Out Punches" in life, that would cripple and devastate most. He's in REAL TROUBLE financially. EVERY utility bill is past due, and pending disconnection and day, without further notice. He's over 2 months PAST DUE on his apartment, and on June 6th, he'll be 3 MONTHS! His Landlord is totally exasperated with Jarrett being repeatedly late during this illness, and is threatening EVICTION if he's not paid IMMEDIATELY!

Jarrett is home now, and really scared. These last two hospitailzations have been horrible for him, and once released, even thhough he may be "well enough to go home", he's so distraught and anxiety filled over his finances that seem to just explode on him, that he's not able to rest and heal as he needs to do.

TODAY, June 5th...HE NEEDS $1860.00. This will get him 2 months caught up on rent, out of disconnect status with utilities, and enough left over to purchase the prescriptions he needs, but have remained unfilled because he's been unable t work/earn money/in the hospital.

Jarrett does receive "food stamps" in the amount of $189.00 a month. But with his specialized diet, and having to supplement his protein and caloric intake with "Ensure" and/or "Boost" nutritional drinks, those "food stamp" funds don't go very far. By the middle of each month he's scraping together money to get just the basic and essential groceries. NO ONE should have to decide whether to buy necessary food, or life sustaining medication! Yet, it's a weekly decision Jarrett is faced to make.

Months ago, when Jarrett's diagnosis elevated from Stage 2 to Stage 4, he went to work. That same night, he drove passengers around Nashville, as a LYFT driver, as normal as could be. He did so, because he knew that no matter the diagnosis, prognosis, or changes in his body, he STILL HAD TO PAY HIS BILLS AND BUY FOOD. Just because things were shifting, and medically taking a dramatically turn for the worse, there was no "magical curtain" that opened, relieving him of all his bills and needs. And THIS IS WHERE I believe WE COME FORWARD, and say to Jarrett, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! YOU ARE LOVED! WE WILL STEADY THE GROUND YOU FEEL CRUMBLING BENEATH YOU!

EACH HOSPITALIZATION Jarrett endures, is a TERROR EVENT to him. Instead of resting, healing, and focusing on his eventual discharge - he's CONSUMED with ANXIETY that he'll lose his place while he's hospitalized, that the electricity is turned off, or the water has been shut off. He YEARNS TO GET WELL and be capable to doing Handyman jobs! Driving for Lyft (like Uber) on his good days! ANYTHING HE AN DO TO EARN MONEY!

The amount we've decided to ask for in the Fundraiser for Jarrett is $7000.00. He needs MORE, but THIS AMOUNT will bring him THREE MONTHS of RELIEF and caught up on rent, utilities, prescriptions, co-pays, etc. Our HOPE is that these months will enable him to HEAL, REST, and become STRONG ENOUGH to do what he loves...driving for Lyft, fixing your computers/tablets/phones, handyman jobs around your homes, and anything else this Renaissance Man knows how to do to earn a living. He WANTS TO WORK. Right now, he's just not able physically to do so anywhere NEAR the amount needed to support himself. A few rides here, an occasional tech job that doesn't require much effort, and that's about all Jarrett can accomplish right now. HE NEEDS US!

HE'S EMBARRASSED WITH HANDOUTS, AND IT BRUISES HIS PRIDE THAT HE NEEDS HELP. But he knows that WITHOUT HELP, he's going to be HOMELESS ANY DAY NOW.

I often wonder, what happened to COMMUNITY? I am guilty as the next person, overlooking the IMMEDIATE and DESPERATE needs of those around me! But I confess, you can't imagine HOW GREAT I FELT GIVING - HELPING SOMEONE! Connect with that feeling that YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! HELP JARRETT TODAY, TO KEEP HIS HOME!
