Last Sept 12,2018 Takayuki Ando suffered a stroke which left him confined in the Nuero Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of St. Luke Medical Center in Global City. He was showing signs of recovery and was about to transferred to a regular room on Sept 21. While getting ready for the transfer, Mr. Ando’s BP went up , he suffered a seizure and Cardiac Arrest. His Heart stopped for 8 mins until he was revived. He was strapped again to the ventilator and was administered propanol in order to control the seizure. He has not waken up since then. By September 29,2018, his hospital bill in St. Lukes reached Ps. 1.8M. He was transferred to Unihealth Hospital in Sucat in hopes of lowering his hospital bill and extending medical support.
Mr. Ando does not have any family . He has been estranged from his Parents and Siblings for over 25 years. He has already consumed his HMO insurance many times over and the company he worked for has already advanced more than half a million and can not anymore provide additional help . His hospital expense is being covered by donations given by his friends here in the Philippines. His current Doctor told us that his body is fighting and there is improvement in his condition. Donation money has run-out. Currently, Mr. Ando owes Unihealth around Ps. 250K .
Our goal now is to transfer him to government hospital in order to save on cost so that we can continue to care for him longer or find ways to bring him back home to Japan.
