HELP SUPPORT A CLASSROOM, BUILD A FUTURE:
Jambo Charity Organization, a community charitable organization in Kenya dedicated to educate poor children from informal settlements (slums) is urgently appealing for donations to build classrooms at its Jambo Charity Community School in Mukuru Slums, Nairobi.
The community school is co-founded by Elvis Bogonko . What's the matter the Founder for Jambo Charity.
Currently, the school uses temporary structures which are not safe for the children.
We have 150 children at the school where we offer formal education as per the Government of Kenya Syllabus. As well we feed the children.
Each classroom will cost $2000. Please help with any donation however modest.
ABOUT JAMBO CHARITY ORGANIZATION
The organization was created as an initiative to combat poverty in Kenya through access to education, skills training and sustainable development. The goal is to directly impact and support the lives of children, families and wider communities gain access to opportunities for future growth.
The main beneficiaries are children and families who are suffering from poverty in Nairobi, Kenya. Jambo Charity Organization believe that by providing key skills in reading and literacy, particularly before school years, that children will be able to gain access to wider opportunities for education, training and employment.
Progress to date
The organization is currently raising funds to support the development of a new Community Educational Centre in Kenya, and continue to provide books and other educational materials to underprivileged children in Nairobi. Jambo Charity Organization have set up a reading program which allows exchange and donation of books to children in local communities.
Projects have included educational workshops around the concepts of sustainable development and life skills, including exchange programs with a Brazilian centre.
The organization is looking for donations of books and other educational material, as well as domestic and international volunteers to help with capacity building.
