Hi All I am trying to raise a 10k to start up a cyclical project which will feature live musicians on stage on a weekly/bi weekly basis, we have already started it and it does work but cannot afford to fund it from our own pockets any longer, the project itself is called the Jam Session Project and it allows musicians of all genre to meet up and play whatever they want as long they play together, it is a great way of meeting like minded people for the musicians but it is also a great entertainment for the public to watch them playing, despite the fact that we do have few venues which are more than happy to host our event on a regular basis we still have to pay for the adverts (posters, leaflets etc.) buy more equipment (mixer, amplifier and set of proper speakers) possibly get 2 or 3 guitars as there are people who can play but simply don't have their own instruments (YES there are people like that) and also to fund some refreshements for the musicians (NO we ain't talking about alcohol). So far from the few events we've had there were 2 bands which have formed and some of us made great friends so we would love to keep going. The amount requested should cover us up for at least 15-18 months.   You are more than welcome to see our facebook page if you want to have a look at some pics etc.   www.facebook.com/jam.session.reading
