Jake’s Medical Bills

As you all know, Jake crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 24. 2015 despite the absolute best care possible to save his life. He made it through surgery, but crashed shortly after. I am empty inside and devastated.

The medical bills we incurred were massive in the past week. They were as follows, rounded to the nearest whole figure.

Auburn University $2,300
Blue Pearl Tampa $2,400
Parkway Sarasota $2,600
Cremation $ 250

The prior fundraiser was just over $1,900 at the time it was turned off. That leaves a balance of roughly $5600. We are setting the level here for $6.000 for any additional costs that might come up, since his final tally has not been made yet for the lifesaving efforts at Parkway.

Jake was my hero. I owe my life to him, and did everything in my power to give him the best life I could. We did some INCREDIBLE things in the time we had since he as diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma on May 4. And the legacy of Jake is living on through his Facebook page at Jake's Bucket List, as well as future projects in the works.

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to those of you who have followed his journey from the beginning. From what started out as a small project to make a few memories with my hero turned into a global following with people from close to 40 countries following Jake's adventures. And along the way, we met some absolutely wonderful people, and made some very special friends.

If there is surplus from the bills, donations will be made in Jake's name to several charities that help with canine cancer, and to research for cures to this horrible disease.

I cannot say as many times as I want to all of you how much I appreciate you all. Thank you does not seem like a strong enough statement to make.
