Jacó COVID Relief Fund for families in need.

Friends around the world. My people of Jacó, Costa Rica, my beautiful community, are struggling. Starting tomorrow, all businesses except essential ones have to close again. We are basically back to lockdown due to increased cases of COVID-19 in Costa Rica. Our economy has been hit hard in a town that rely heavily and primarily on tourism, and a lot of people are really struggling financially and have been for the past 5 months. Now, with these new restrictions, the people who had been able to reopen and keep the economy moving forward a little bit are again forced to close - which means once again people will struggle even more to feed their families, pay their electric & water bills etc.

And yesterday, July 10th, a tropical storm hit, flooding half the town, and majority of houses in very poor areas where hit hard. This also affects the drinking water in some areas, where the water comes out brown from the tap.

Not only are these families already struggling to meet their basic needs with food, hygiene and clothing, but now also dealing with flooding and the aftermath of that just had my heart break.

The money will go to food baskets for families going hungry. I will be working together with the organization "Jaco Impact" putting these together and delivering. It will include the basic needs for those who have been left in a position where they aren't able to provide for their households right now.
