Jackie’s PT service trip to Belize

Hello friends! I have been graciously given the opportunity to go to Belize for two weeks this coming August to practice and serve the people in three different communities. This experience is a huge privilege for me and I am so excited to go.

The trip includes five 1^st year PT and seven 1^st year OT students who will be working on different teams at different locations during our time there. We will be working at an adult daycare center, a preschool, a nursing home-type facility, and a temporary clinic. PT and OT services are not very common in the country, so we will be busy all day long with people with many different types of diagnoses and impairments. This is a huge opportunity for me to get my hands on real people with real problems, practice my skills, and learn new things.

With that being said, traveling to another country for two weeks is no small expense (about $3000). While I’ve only been in grad school for one year, I’ve already accrued significant loans and am reaching out to you, my family and friends, to support me in this endeavor. Any donation, no matter how small, will help me reach my goal for this trip, but also help me in my lifelong pursuit of serving others both near and far. This experience is hopefully the first of many opportunities and your support would mean the world to me as I share my love of PT, for serving others, and ultimately for serving Jesus.
